Pulse compression technique is widely used in modern radar systems. Large timeband product signals are used in pulse compression technique to improve the resolution in range domain. With the development of hardware, A/D coverting in the radar receiver could be accomplished in IF. As the fore part of radar signal processing, quadrature sampling and pulse compression can be processed in time-domain and frequency-domain.The performance of kinds of pulse compression signals have been studied in this dissertation, especially the performance of their Doppler and sidelobe.Mehords of improving their performance have been introduced. As the same time,the performance of quadrature sampling and pulse compression has been analylized and. Some new methord of synthetic algorithm has been introduced.The main content and creative work in this dissertation include:(1) Analylize the performance of three kinds of pulse compression signal including LFM,NLFM,PHC. Especilly is the influence of the frequency-modulated slope to the result. Present a kind of idea of polyphase coding with large Doppler-tolerant and a kind of idea about pulse compression with low range sidelobe at the same time.(2) Analylize the principle of the the synthetic algorithm of quadrature sampling and pulse compression and improve it. Compare their computation load and performantce and it is proved to be right and effective.(3) Simulate the echoes of the radar, namely produce the pulse compression signals with band width equaling 1.3MHz, time width in 30μs-100μs and analyze them in frequency domain quadrature sampling and pulse compression.(4) Test and debug the system of the synthetic algorithm on a signal processing board base on TS203 chip. And the algorithm is proved to be right and effective.
