In recent years, hazardous materials transportation accidents occur frequently and the insurance of transportation safety is extremely difficult due to complicated road conditions, vehicle mobility and the uncontrollable scope of accidents. Since existing domestic transportation of hazardous chemicals regulatory system has not formed yet, the systematic supervision of those enterprises and institutions with variable transportation situations is too hard to implement. For the above, a real-time system for the dynamic monitoring of vehicle location and sensing information is necessary and remote monitoring staff can respond immediately when the vehicle is in an abnormal state with this system so as to reduce hazards and risks of accidents.In response to these needs, a remote system tracking and monitoring the transportation status of hazardous chemicals for small enterprises is designed in this thesis. Combining Baidu Maps and ZigBee wireless communication technology, the system realizes the multi-point distribution, the static and dynamic monitoring of transportation status. This thesis focuses on key technologies such as the driver method, data transmission and communication module of sensors, the connection of positioning module and the analysis of NMEA0183(National Marine Electronics Association) sentences, ZigBee networking and communication protocols and the telecommunications combined GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) and SMS(Short Message Service), etc. The vehicle information collection devices and main controllers are developed based on ZigBee and mobile communication. The vehicle sensor information are collected by the information collection device, and then be sent to the main controller in accordance with custom ZigBee protocol format by ZigBee antenna. After combining the position information from GPS module and the sensor information from information collection, vehicle main controller send these record to remote monitoring center via mobile communication networks. To meet the needs of the transportation of hazardous chemicals, the technique of building a map operation service system through C#.Net and Baidu Maps is discussed. The full use of service interface provided by Baidu Maps improves the utilization rate of the Internet mass location resources, simplifies the development process and advances the applicability of this system.Aiming at the importance and difficulties in the regulatory process of hazardous chemicals transportation, a tracking and monitoring system integrating positioning, monitoring, communication, early warning and emergency treatment function is proposed, and has a very practical reference value in the establishment of safety supervision system for monitoring the production, distribution, transportation and warehousing of hazardous chemicals.
