Machine vision inspection technology uses digital camera replace eyes to capture the image information of objects, and uses the computer (or microprocessor) to identify and judge the image information, mainly research works is that used the machine to imitate the human visual function. Machine vision has been applied in the field of inspection of manufacturer, it improved the automatic, and greatly raise the quality and efficiency of inspection. Machine vision inspection technology has been used in many large projects and systems in enterprises, universities and research institutions by its advantage of performance, and its application is also more and more widely. In the near future, with the application of machine vision inspection technology, Chinese manufacturing will be run to the forward of more intelligent and rapid.This project design a set of machine vision inspection system based on PC+DSP, in order to solve the problem of the quality and efficiency of the tire mold character matching.The paper introduces the structure of the machine vision inspection system that is divided into three parts, including the mechanical execution structure, motion control module and machine vision module. Firstly, according to demand of the actual working condition, design a set of work platform can be applied to a variety of tire mold size. Secondly, study the principle and essential components of the machine vision, according to specific application requirements and component technology parameters design a set of visual acquisition system witch is insist of CMOS digital camera and other relevant components; Finally, study control system of PC+DSP, develop the motion control system witch is cooperated with machine vision to finish detection work. Among them, we focus to study the principle and technology of quick starts and stops of the two-phase stepping motor. we made simulation and verification of the S-type acceleration and deceleration control algorithm with SIMULINK to optimize the motion control algorithm and improve running stability of the testing platform.On the basis of the above design and research, the paper carries out the necessary testing and debugging of the machine vision inspection platform. Test results show that the control system can work normally, and it has good performance. It has considerable economic benefit in the tire mold character inspection.
