As an important component, positioning systems are widely used in the electronics manufacturing equipment, high-speed high-precision machine tool industry and other fields, which has significant implications on the efficiency, quality and precision of production. Most of the traditional position systems use rotating motor + ball screw, gas or liquid servo system. While linear motor drive technology make a"zero transmission"come true. Linear motor drive technology has high efficiency and high precision characteristics, which not only improve the responsiveness and efficiency, but also improves the positioning accuracy. Machine vision technology is a complex detection technology. In machine vision system, CCD (Charge-coupled Device) cameras are use to acquire images, IPC (Industrial Personal Computer) processes images. The introduction of linear motor and machine vision integration makes positioning systems more accurate.This paper presents a new X-Y Micro-platform drove by two liner motor, designs a machine vision high-speed positioning system based on linear motor. First, positioning systems'development of domestic and international is reviewed , an overall design of a machine vision high-speed positioning system based on linear motor is introduced.Then, structure and principle of linear motor and positioning system are described. Based on the structure and principle, mathematical models of linear motor and positioning system are given. And then designs the structure and control system (including hardware and software design) of positioning system. The digital PID control strategy is selected by analyzing the mathematical models of positioning system.Finally, simulation and experiment platform for a machine vision high-speed positioning system based on linear motor is built. Through a series of simulation and experiment, experiment data are obtained. The experiment results show that the machine vision high-speed positioning system based on linear motor is feasible.
