Intellectuals and modern media interaction has been the important topic on academic circles.From the most basic sense, the interaction of the two is the relationship between the ideas and public space. Since modern media was born, it’s through media such as newspaper, television, the Internet which makes the intellectual’s value, positions and views into the public space of traditional effectively, stretching for one hundred years. So, how to walk in the media and academic field and how to restrict and influence each other between these to fields becomes a problem? In the current media ecology, what kind of communication system we should provide to make intellectuals through the media to participate in building public space, and then spread ideas, lead the public? This study using Bourdieu’s field theory as the analysis tool under the perspective of journalism and communication is trying to make rational analysis and value judgment.This study recognizes the interaction of intellectuals and the media again based on field theory of three main concepts-field, habit, capital. This study first inspects the history of the Chinese and foreign intellectuals in ancient and modern working in media and the relevant expositions of scholars about intellectuals. On the basis of the connotation and extension for the intellectuals were redefined. On the basis of comprehensive analysis, using field theory analyses the intellectuals in the media field and academic circles’characteristic and the present situation, and then analyze the intellectuals and media interaction. The characteristics of Bourdieu’s thought show the deep introspection. Under the guidance of the methodology, in the inflection the paper also tried to think the intellectuals in medium’s feasibility strategy during the period of transition.
