The automatic test system is composed of automatic test equipment(ATE) systems, supporting softwares, test programs, interface adapters and cables.The development of automatic test system has gone through several stages, many new theories and new methods are introduced into the process of its development.Until now, it has established mature standards system.This research is based on the automatic test system of detection of circuit board fault.The software system is designed with the idea of signal-oriented ideology. The content of this research involves STD signal components creation, design and implementation of visual signal modeling tools and run-time resources management module.A signal COM that conforms to the IEEE 1641 standard has been designed based on object oriented programming technology.The component provides a dynamic invocation mechanism betweenthe test system that requests for a test signal and instrument driver. The signal COM in the package is made following the standards of IEEE1641, and the standard gives the construction mechanism modeling of complex signal.After intensive research, a visualization of complex signal modeling tools have beeb realized in order to reduce the burden of test personnel. The test personnel can create the most complex signal according to the signal demanding and the ability of instruments without understanding the IEEE1641 standard,.And then the paper involves the implementation of the run-time system.The runtime system is very crucial for real-time allocation of resources. Through analysing the strcture and information of description document of ATML system, a feasible plan for the runtime system has been put forward. This runtime system with initial channel, signal matching ability and automatic selection function, is achieved by DLL function library, and can call the corresponding function according to the specific test task.At last the paper gives the verification of software program. By building test samples, the function and performance of the signal modeling tools and runtime system are verified respectively. Verification results show that the signal modeling tool can realize the function of the signal components, the generated description XML documents of signal definition are in accordance with STD specification. Runtime system can analyse the test requirements, select the best test channel automatically, and performs stably.The signal modeling tools and run-time resources management based on STD have great reference value to research of real-time allocation of resources and the research of automatic test system. They also have some practical value.
