Yellow River is the mother river of our Chinese nation, from the past to now, the management of Yellow River has never interrupted. So the quality of water conservancy construction along Yellow River has a very important influence on the management of Yellow River. According to requirement of engineering monitoring along Yellow River in Shandong, this paper designed and developed the UAV remote spot monitoring system for construction engineering along Yellow River with the use of detection technology, mechanical design technology, communication technology, remote sensing technology, automation technology and other application technologies.This system uses UAV to monitor the Yellow River water conservancy construction real-timely, collect image information of construction site and return to storage in time, and use data processing software to realize the analysis of image data, finally achieve the remote spot monitoring on the construction site. This system can realize the function of timed take-off, autonomous navigation and intelligent obstacle avoidance. The Intelligent landing station designed for UAV can achieve the function of UAV’s take-off and landing automatically and auto charging. Meanwhile we can achieve digital and intelligent management on the construction of the Yellow River according to the data obtained from image data processing software.According to analysis and comparison of engineering monitoring system on Yellow River water conservancy construction and the applications of UAV in various industries, this paper have designed and developed the system from these aspects:1. According to demand of construction monitoring unit, and combined with circumstance of the construction site along Yellow River, we proposed the plan that UAV alternative manually works to do the project monitoring. Then we have done the overall design of the system, and divided the system into three functional modules based on the idea of modularization:data acquisition module, data storage and transmission module and data processing module. Then I designed various functional modules individually.2. We selected the equipments according to the functional and development requirements of the system. Then we used automatic control theory and mechanical design technology to achieve the design of each function module, and selected the most reasonable plan in consideration of realization, structure and cost of the system.3. Research UAV’s flying control system and synthetically used SINS and GPS to realize the function of UAV’s autonomous navigation. For the function of UAV’s intelligent obstacle avoidance, we adopted the methods based on feature points of obstacle expansion model, then planned the optimal flight path in accordance with maximum and minimum principles, and ultimately achieves the intelligent flight.4. Design the intelligent landing station as UAV’s landing platform. UAV can land precisely by secondary fine positioning process based on visual recognition. Designed the mechanical structure of the intelligent landing station to replace UAV’s battery automatically to solve the problem of UAV battery’s life is too short.5. Research UAV’s data transmission system, and then designed storage and transmission system of the image data collected by UAV.The system can realize data’s cloud storage. For the transmission of image data, we designed hierarchical transmission to make real-time data pass back stability.6. According to the system design, we used remote sensing image processing software PIE-UAV to achieve real-time processing and analysis of the image data acquired by UAV, and provided data support for digital and intelligent monitoring of water conservancy construction along Yellow River.7. Finally, the paper gives analysis of the reliability, stability, security, applicability of the system, and analyzes the innovation and advancement of the system; finally make a summary of the value of the system in practical use.
