Wavelength scanning interferometry is a speckle pattern interferometry depend on Michelson interference principle. It can be applied to the observation of composite strain field in the deforming process. Its characteristic is that the length of its interference arms are const and the laser intensity presents regular change during experiment. To collect a series of interference images by industrial camera, then processed these images with Fourier transform and signal extraction. After that, a change history of composite strain field was obtained. The aim of this paper was developing an image acquisition integrated system after upgrading the wavelength scanning interference experiment platform.Considering the system development cost and development cycle and maintainability, image acquisition integrated system developed by upper-computer. Development resources provided by various device manufacturers incorporated into a software system. This system developed by Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 with MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes), which can efficiently design system interface and edit codes. It can control laser controller and industrial camera with computer, so that operators can set parameter and switch device functions in the system interface to finish the experimental data acquisition tasks.Before developing a system, a detail requirement analysis is required. It included functional requirements analysis and performance requirement analysis and others. To take full account of the control requirement of laser controller and industrial camera, image acquisition ability, user experience, and system expandability. In addition, based on the upgraded experiment process and equipment conditions, a new image acquisition process was designed with the experiment aim and principle.To edit codes logically during the system development process. This paper described the code detailedly, included function declarations and performance, invoking methods of key codes and so on. Further instructions was provided by program flow chart and reference programs. According to the object, foundational codes can be divided into three categories for describing, they were main program codes, laser controller codes and industrial camera codes. Furthermore performance optimization codes was described with the improvement of the system by adding or modifying some codes.While system development was completed, it needed to debug with wavelength scanning interference experiment platform and make a series of experimental testing. From the redesigned experimental process and image data of this system, it shows that operators can effectively control laser controller and industrial camera with this system for wavelength scanning interference experiment. Therefore experiment efficiency had greatly improved. What’s more, this system was developed depended on application development guide and user habits. Its readable code and uncluttered interface allows user to apply it or do secondary development with simple learning.
