A Community-based Study Of County-level TV Station Under The Circumstance Of Media Convergence

In recent years, media competition is like a raging fire and the pressure of county-level TV stations for survival is becoming intensive. The emergence of the four-screen makes the county-level TV stations’ reform extremely urgent. The thesis explores the status of existence and development of county-level TV stations in four aspects in order to solve the problems appeared during their development. First of all, problems existed in county-level TV stations are concluded through analyzing the survey data of county-level TV stations. The problems are caused by two reasons: one is the external environment, i.e.,with the advancement of three networks convergence, media convergence has become a trend and the network media has developed with a strong momentum. The other reason is that self-limitations of county-level TV stations have limited their developments. How to find an effective way to survive and develop in the fierce competition environment has become a burning issue of county-level TV stations.Communitization can be viewed as an effective way to survive and develop for county-level TV stations. Secondly, the theory origin and the domestic and foreign developing status of communitization are explored deeply. It is concluded that it is possible for county-level TV stations to implement communitization through the comparative analysis of domestic and foreign media communitization. Thirdly, specific measures for county-level TV stations to implement communitization are summarized. Countermeasures are put forward in order to solve the problems existing in the county-level TV stations. For instance, county-level TV stations can implement the operation strategy of promoting common progress of both television and network,create new operation mode and remodel developing structure of county-level TV stations. Future prospects of implementing communitization for the county-level TV stations are made at last.Through further improvement of communitization, new media and traditional media can complement each other and reach symbiotic interaction. The county-level TV stations will achieve a new leap forward by applying a variety of medium platforms and enhancing user experience.
