In recent years, with the development of IOT (Internet of Things), RFID technology is more widely used in people’s daily life. Although RFID technology has gotten much progress, there are some issues still needs to deal with in practical applications. One of the keys to solving these problems is to do research on automatic systems to test and validate every component and their coordination of RFID system. This research not only helps to reduce related resources paid on RFID tests, but also allows us to detect potential defects in RFID system. Therefore, it is very important and significant to research RFID testing technology.Firstly, we studied the basic principles of RFID system working at 13.56MHz, which focus on the ASK modulation mode, the time domain expression and power spectrum expression of 2-ASK signal based on a detailed mathematical derivation. Then we discussed the operating principles of RFID tag working at 13.56MHz, including inductive coupling, backscattering and load modulation based on subcarrier. Finally we moved on to the core technology of RFID testing.Secondly, GB/T 22351 protocol is researched and illustrated, including the physical layer and the data link layer. As to physical layer, we research on the forward and reverse link communication respectively. The research of data link layer concentrates on the state transition of tag and the frame structure of command.Thirdly, the prototype of RFID system based on GB/T 22351 standard is implemented on NI platform. At first, we gave the hardware and software architectures of RFID test system. Then the configuration of instrument drivers and the realization of protocol stack by LabVIEW FPGA are introduced, including transmitter, receiver and data link module.Last but not least, the whole RFID test system is implemented by adding test modules into prototype. Test modules consist of RF parameters test module, protocol conformance test module and performance test module. Theoretical analysis, description of program and results of test are given for every test module.
