Design And Implementation Of UHF RFID RF Conformance Automatic Test System

With the rapid development of Internet of Things, technology in ultra-high frequency(UHF) RFID has improved greatly. RFID test requirements are increasing with many companies applying this technology to the products. Performance testing of RFID equipment becomes more and more important, especially in RF conformance test field. Computer technology makes automatic testing system(ATS) available and it becomes the main approach instead of the traditional manual testing. It is necessary to design an automatic testing system which makes the computer control the testing of the reader’s RF performance.In this thesis, basic knowledge of RFID technology and current research situation are introduced. Test items and methods are also given for RFID reader test in accordance with EPC Global Protocol specification and Chinese national trail test standard. Based on visual studio environment, this automatic test software is developed using C#. It is divided into several modules, such as information module, test module, report module and so on. The firm ware of this software platform consists of signal generator, vector signal analyzer, RFID signal command unit and RF link switching unit. The signal command unit establishes the communication for test between devices under test and RF link switching unit is designed to change different RF path links. The automatic test system is in charge of the whole test process, while the measurement instruments are used to complete all test tasks.The system given in this thesis has good performance in both efficiency and speed. Also it is easy to modify test parameters and thresholds through configure files. So that it can be extended in the future. This system has high accuracy and result conformance.
