Along with the development of information technology and semiconductor technology, the price of LED screen is getting cheaper and cheaper, as well as the control mode, which all make the LED screen becomes one of the important ways to get information. LED control card has been developed for more than a decade, but its main control mode is still with cable way. The market is full of all kinds of control cards, including the U disk mode, network port mode, serial port mode and a combination of variety of control modes, but the wireless card such as GPRS card only occupy a small share of the market. This paper is based on our lab’s basic research of LED screen in the early stage. We design a wireless LED control system based on the Sub-GHz radio frequency chip KW01, which launched by Freescale Semiconductor Company. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) By studying the working principle and system structure of P10 unit, the paper compares the traditional LED control card, and analyzes the advantages of the wireless LED control system, which is a great innovation of this thesis.(2) The hardware of main control card of the system is completed with KW01 as the control chip. In order to connect with the LED screen, we designed an expansion board for the KW01 node, providing the SWD debug interface, and the 12 interfaces for the P10 unit.(3) Based on the idea of component design, this paper packages the bottom driver for the two time, embedded MQX RTOS, improving the system’s anti-interference ability, making the tasks and thread of software design clear.(4) Using VS2010 development tool and C# programming language, we design and complete this system’s PC software, which mainly achieves the setting of control card’s display contents and methods, and provides some auxiliary functions such as real-time weather and time.The research results of this paper shows that the LED control system can realize the The Design and Application of Wireless LED Control System based on KW01 Abstract function of LED screen properly, and has been put into use. During long-time test, the results show that the wireless LED control system based KW01 has the advantages of strong flexibility, stable communication, simple operation, fast information display and update. It can adapt to the development trend of LED display and has a good market prospect.
