With the growth of digital display systems in the world we try to present a digital display system with less hardware components that can be economically used in improving the architecture of modem cities with easier system maintenance. We succeed in designing this digital display system using LED-method for the display. Impressive work has been done in the last years concerning the method of digital display system with a full matrix light emitting diode (16 x 16) system.The purpose of this paper is to design a hardware circuit for a display system that can provide alphabetic messages as characters message. There are several methods for designing a digital display system, and the most useful method is the LCD-method and LED-method.In this paper I used the microcontroller AT89C51 and 27C64 EPROM chip and for the RAM chip I used 62256 chip and the MAX232 for interfacing RS232 serial port in addition mere's need for some driver as '373 and '138 and for the software I have programmed this circuit using ASM51 assembly language for the AT89C51 microcontroller.This paper will provide a practical demonstration of designing a single chip Microprocessor communication system for displaying message using the LED-method, and will further explain its interface arid the serial connection principles, from both software and hardware point of view.
