Since the last IPv4 address assignment is completed,Internet had to accelerate the deployment of IPv6 process. In China, with the opening of CERNET2, the deployment of IPv6 also moves toward rapid development period.Because of the incompatible between IPv4/IPv6 and IPv4’s huge application foundation, the transition of IPv6 is a gradual process. The majority of network operators, that especially in small and medium-sized network management, is not familiar with the new IPv6 network.Therefore,a huge number of small and medium-sized network how to transit to IPv6,the existing network application how to migrate to IPv6 is a problem which is need to solved by many small web workers.In the domestic small and medium-sized network, mostly accept Windows system platform, so this article aims at the study of Windows system in the IPv6 protocol and designs a suitable scheme for medium and small network of low cost, easy operation of the IPv6 transition and IPv6 network application migration.This paper describes the IPv6 protocol and ICMPv6 protocol, IPv6 protocol, the dual stack, tunnel technology, a translation mechanism, typical IPv6 transition technology are analyzed and compared in detail. On this basis, it further discusses the IPv6 technology application and existing network applications to IPv6 migration problems which faced and solutions.Finally, with the analysis of Windows system on IPv6 protocol support, a design based on tunnel technology, using IIS7, Xlight FTP Server, turbomail software provides IPv6 application service of IPv6 transition scheme. The scheme which has low cost, simple configuration, on the basis of existing IPv4 changes very small, contains a completed IPv6 network application migration method. Finally, based on the Windows platform experimental environment, according to the design scheme for authentication of communication test, validate the feasibility of the scheme.
