Research On The Direct-drive Turntable Of The Single Axis CNC System

Through decades of rapid development, the servo drive technology is gradually maturing, which has become one of the pillar technologies in field of industrial production, widely used in the motion control of CNC machine tools, food machinery, textile industry, automation industry and other fields. The control device is usually used for numerical control system. Recently, in occasions which only single axis control is needed, different types of single axis CNC system are developed, greatly reducing the cost of the control device and being applied in some applications. Therefore, the development of single axis CNC system has become a research hotspot in recent years.According to the factory-university cooperation project, a universal single axis CNC system used on direct-drive turntables is developed. According to the requirements of the manufacturers, the hardware selection, system construction and software development are completed, based on PLC controller, and serving HMI as human-computer interaction interface. In order to realize the direct-drive turntable’s programmable speed control, precision positioning control, electronic display of the implementation of the turntable.The single axis CNC system in this subject is mainly composed of HMI, programmable logic controller(PLC), direct-drive turntable and servo driver. Settings are made for the communication connection between PLC, HMI, servo drive and other hardware, as well as format and parameter. Through the analysis on the function of the control system, the design of PLC control programs are finished, with making a corresponding HMI control image and completing the system debugging. In the man-machine interface, it can also realize real-time monitoring on the systems, which is easy to operate.The single axis CNC system designed here is to build a control system by PLC and HMI separately, which can make the turntable work independently without machine tool control system, greatly reduces industrial cost. Because that the control system is versatile, it can be used for other devices needing single axis control, and meanwhile real-time monitoring function of the HMI can make the working state of the controlled object in real-time display, more convenient for users. Through the manufacturers’ use on it, good economic benefit is acquired for the cooperated manufacturer sand it has reached the design requirements.
