With the vigorous development of big data technology, its applications a nd influence are increasingly wide range to many industries, the publishing h as also "doomed". In theory, cross media publishing, deep digital publishing deep green publishing are three trends of the Chinese publishing, and these th ree aspects all need the supports of big data. Big data technology has three ch aracteristics of quick, convenient and cheap which can raise the efficiency of publishing.Besides,the publishing process can be monitored in real-time, the prediction function of big data can promote intelligent publishing and the pub lishing process will be complete reconstruction. In fact, in western publishin g enterprises, the use of big data has long been considered. Many traditional publishing companies have transformation depth on the part of design, produ ction and marketing, such us "the guardian" group, Scholastic Corp, Penguin Group.Otherwise, Amazon, Google, Facebook and other companies with its o wn data and technical advantages create a new publishing situation. In contra st, the applications of big data in domestic publishing is still in the embryonic stage.In recent years,, the Chinese government attaches great importance to th e big data,the network provides a large number of data to big data and the de velopment of big data technology rapidly. It’s all beneficial to big data’s appl ication of publishing in China. But, there are many constraints too,such as, o pen government data is not enough, industry data sharing consciousness, lack of talented person. In this context, what kind of development should be cho ose,what strategy should be adopt are the urgent issues we need to study. Thr ough the theoretical demonstration of the relationship between big data and p ublishing, I draw the following conclusions that Chinese publishing should a ctively develop the big data applications. And through the analysis of big dat a application cases at home and abroad, combined with the specific environm ents of big data in our country, I made some suggestions on development of big data applications of China’s publishing which from three levels,including goverment, industry, enterprise. Finally, I describe several important proble ms we need to pay attention to,in the field of the development of big data in t he publishing, and the"only the data theory" on alert.
