Even since the information revolution, the momentum of network buildings has never stopped. In order to make good use the favorable technology, we need to better understand wireless networks and their system performance. This goal has been driving a lot of researchers to examine the features about wireless network systems. Also, this is the goal of our study. More specific, our study focused on performance evaluation of Ad Hoc Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). With limited time and facilities, this thesis discusses the influence of station mobility on system performance in network systems. To begin with, we will introduce wireless networks and our study background. After that, we will present related literatures and studies on the topic. In Chapter 3, we will describe the Ad Hoc WLAN systems, which is the foundation of the simulation in our study. Simulation results will be presented in Chapter 4. These results obtained in the study are helpful for us to understand the performance of WLAN system. Finally, a summary of our work will be presented and possible future work will be discussed.
