As natural resources, mineral resources are essential to human and important raw mate-rial to the majority of industrial products. Although there are abundant iron ore in our country, the vast majority of iron ore need to be processed through ore dressing because of the features of "poor, small and miscellaneous". With the rapid development of information technology, the integrated automation solution which is made up of ERP, MES and PCS come to being. Enterprises want to promote the establishment of modern enterprise system through the en-terprise-wide information integration and computer management, thus enterprises can gain a favorable position in the market competition. As a central part of the three-layer structure, MES plays the role of information conversion, processing, transmission between the upper production management and the bottom production process control. Most of existing mineral processing MES come from custom development for specific enterprise, which led to the product’s scalability and reusability become poor. To solve above problems, this thesis devel-oped a mineral processing manufacturing execution system operation platform, which has good configurability, scalability and reusability. The main contributions of the thesis are as follows:(1) The research situation at home and abroad of the operation platform and the structure and function of mineral processing MES are analyzed in detail. According to the analysis re-sults, the thesis analyzed the requirements of the operation platform, and thus put forward component idea to develop mineral processing MES operation platform.(2) According to the actual needs of enterprises, a reusable, scalable mineral processing manufacturing execution system operation platform is set up, meanwhile the structure and function of the operation platform are designed through the way of hybrid design and three-layer software architecture design.(3) The specific function modules of the operation platform are designed through using component design idea. The functions of operation platform are divided into basic functions and business functions. The basic functions consist of system management function module, factory modeling function module, system integration interface function module, synthetic inquiry function module, report function module and database management function module. The business functions include cost management function module, production planning func-tion module, production scheduling function module, quality management function module, equipment management function module and energy management function module.(4) The part of function modules of the operation platform’s basic function and business function are realized. The system management function module, factory modeling function module, report function module and database management function module in the basic func-tion are realized. The equipment management function module and energy management func-tion module of the business function are realized. Operation platform provide the package for the functions in the forms of class library. The class libraries improve the reusability and scalability of these components through using a variety of software design techniques.(5) The completed function components of the operation platform are tested comprehen-sively. The specific functions of the mineral processing manufacturing execution system are developed through calling the completed class library components. The testing results show that the completed class library components meet functional requirements.
