With the development of micrelectronics technology, computer tehnology and network technology, the highly open control system which characteristic of the ordinary installation, expediently program, favorable safety, simply use and maintenance already comes true. DeltaV automation system is a scale alterable control system which bases on fieldbus standard and use Windows XP as working foundation and control network as essential frame. As a key component in the PlantWeb architecture, DeltaV automation system inosculates the up to data technologies such as computer science, Ethernet network, fieldbus and graphics mode control algorithm to a whole, therefore providing a simple and flexible method of system hardware and software installation and DCS configuration for users, meantime the DeltaV automation system also easily delivers precision control, predictive maintenance, and enterprise optimization for today’s digital plants.Sponsored by the Air Separation Plant project of a methanol plant in Ningxia, China, the air separation plant adopts Hangzhou Hangyang Co. Ltd’s technology and equipment, a single set is up to 45000NM3/H. In accordance with the need of air separation process characteristics and control strategy, we adopt the Emerson DeltaV 10.3 distributed control system of Chinese version.In the thesie, with reference to the Emerson DeltaV10.3 distributed control system’s application in methanol air separation plant, the main contrbution of this disseration are as follows:The thesis expounds the current situation of DCS and the characteristics of PlantWeb, and analyses the DeltaV system’s basic structure and features, the control system’s hardware and software components, then explains the applications of some advanced technologies including MODBUS, OPC and so on. At last, based on the DeltaV system’s control system structure and functions, the logic interlock control, MCC motor control and SFC sequence control are designed, which improve the control performance.DeltaV10.3 distributed control system’s successful application in air separation plant, not only can solve the problem of device smooth operation, but also gives full play to the potential of the device and equipment, improves the equipment’s capacity, control the reaction severity in a reasonable range, improves the product quality and high value-added product yield, reduces energy consumption of the device, makes the production plant benefit maximization.
