With the application and development of DCS, a large amount of control system immerged. These systems are easy to develop and program, safe and reliable, convenient to use and maintain, high open-ended. Based on the RS3and PRO VOX DCS system, Emerson Corp. announced DeltaV DCS system. DeltaV DCS system is a bundle of new DCS. It’s designed according to Fieldbus FF standard, and it is compatible with the functionality of Fieldbus. It is built on full digital structure, and takes the advantage of many DCS systems. DeltaV DCS system is a fusion of stat of the art computer technology, network technology, Fieldbus technology, graphic control strategic design technology. The hardware and software are easy and flexible to install; the component and development are user friendly; the control is more precise and can be maintained predictively.This thesis is based on an integrated hydrogenation system (IHS) upgrade project of Dalian Petrochemical Company. The DCS used by the HIS is a second generation DCS made by Emerson Process management in the early90’s. It has been running continuously for13years. The components are severely aged, which causes frequent malfunction, increased running cost, and difficulty in flexibility and extensibility. This thesis focuses on configuration software, control technique and strategy, and develops a DeltaV DCS based system. This system is a petrolin hydrogenation and diesel hydrogenation advanced control system that has advanced control process and at the same time, is highly extensible and reliable.This thesis first explains the technical flow of IHS, and analyzes in detail the various existing hardware and software problems of the current PRO VOX system, as well as the limitation in the production process. Through the analysis of the trend of DCS and the development of PROVOX system, I decide to upgrade the control system to DeltaV DCS. Next, focusing on DeltaV DCS, this thesis introduces its system structure, control network, system characteristics, system configuration software, diagnosis tools, alarm, history record and chart. All these aspects indicate that the DeltaV DCS is capable of redundant controller design, convenient system configuration, online update support, advanced alarm and record management.On the design of HIS DeltaV DCS, I provide a hardware and software upgrade plan for the control system, according to the properties of the current PROVOX software and hardware. Furthermore, according to the technical flow of the HIS, this approach realizes various control strategy and functionality, including generic PID control, serial control, distribute control, additive and interlock functionality. Meanwhile, I discuss fuzzy control and how to realize and apply fuzzy control in DeltaV DCS. Since the use of HIS DeltaV DCS in May2012, the whole control system functions steady. The operational interface is user-friendly and convenient to operate. The study in this thesis has positive influence to the other PRO VOX system upgrade in our country.
