Study On The Copyright Trade Changes Of Beijing International Book Fair

Beijing International Book Fair(BIBF) is an international book fair in a large field, which is paid high attention by people in China. At present, the BIBF has become one of the four largest books fair with Frankfurt book fair, London book fair and the American BEA book fair and become the largest book fair in Asia. Publishers buy publications, make copyright trade, communicate with different cultural and participate professional BBS and many other rich and colorful activities through the Beijing International Book Fair, which copyright trade has been the publishing industry’s focus. This paper first represents the fundamental concept of international copyright trade, and then longitudinal analyzes of every year’s copyright trade achievements of Beijing International Book Fair, then horizontal analyzes each elements involved in copyright trade by use of every year’s Beijing International Book Fair to conclude the copyright trade’s change history of 29 years’ Beijing International Book Fair, and the last proposes the corresponding conclusions.The article is parted for five chapters. The first part is introduction, which introduces selected topic significance, selected topic background, the related literature review, research method and related theory of communication and publishing involved in this article. The second chapter is to introduce the basic concept and characteristics of the books copyright, the basic concept and characteristics of international books copyright trade and international copyright convention that must comply during the international books copyright trade, and then conclude the copyright trade’s main bodies, objects, main forms, rules and trading modes. The third chapter takes an overview of copyright trade’s development of Beijing International Book Fair in 29 years, according to the copyright trade volume of each year’s Beijing International Book Fair, divided its history into three periods: preliminary development of copyright trade from 1986 to 2000; the stable development of copyright trade from 2002 to 2005; the rapid evolution of copyright trade from 2006 to 2015. The last part of this chapter combines the process of copyright trade with Beijing International Book Fair, which is divided into BIBF’s copyright trade’s main bodies, objects, main forms, regulations(laws and principles), and trading modes. The fourth chapter analyzes the copyright trade changes of Beijing International Book Fair by exampling specific cases, which concludes five trends: digitalization of books copyright trade, diversification of copyright trade pattern, amalgamation of books copyright trade, subject matter’s diversification of imported books and localization of exported books. The sixth chapter sums up the future value of Beijing International Book Fair by horizontal and vertical analysis of the relationship between Beijing international book fair and copyright trade: Beijing International Book Fair is an effective platform of international copyright trade, strong means to against cultural imperialism, powerful tool to promote China’s national power and improve cultural soft power.
