The Comparative Study Of University Library Service Based On Social Network

While the Internet technology has greatly developed, the rapidly growing information resource on networking sites lead to the campus literature center status of university library gradually reduce, so that the amounts of users who query information from library are getting less, and university students prefer to find necessary information on websites. The social network is a kind of the emerging social media, which could encourage users to participate in, form a network interconnection, and provide users with personalized recommendation service, etc. In the era of web2.0, the university library would improve the service level by concepts and technologies of social network, take publicity and promotion of library by conveniently obtaining and sharing information on websites, get the users’ trust and preference, improve the level of library service. At present, the domestic library application of social network service is still in the stage of development, and SNS library application platform about the specific content of the information service and the user demands really needs enough research.Based on the reality, to improve the information service level of domestic university library using social network, the article investigate the current situation of university library’s social service at home and abroad, compare and analysis the differences of domestic university library social networking platform application between Renren and Sina Weibo. Firstly, the article introduces the service mode and features of Renren and Sina Weibo, and selects the typical SNS for university library service content analysis. Then, Comparing two kinds of platforms summarize the advantages and disadvantages of each other. Taking the questionnaire survey to understand user requirements, and relying on the analysis of the SNS platform status and the results of the questionnaire, the article points out problems existing in the domestic university library network service, and put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to solve these problems. Finally, summarize the article and outlook the research.
