The information technology and the Internet platform has combined the Internet and other traditional industries into a new development situation. In this case, as a sort of traditional industry, the library should advance with the times, change traditional service ideas by pioneering and innovating. Under the new situation, the original literature center is facing a depressing future and the dependence on the library is reducing too. Now, for most people, they prefer to search on the internet rather than go to the library to look up any information that they need. As a new platform for people to share experiences and communicate with each other, social media plays an important part in our daily life. University libraries take advantage of features that resources can be shared and information can be sent quickly through social media. According to the research results, this paper points out the problems existing in the application of social media in the university library, and offers some personal suggestions and solutions to these problems.
