The Design And Implementation Of Plant Knowledge Popularization System Based On Smartphones

Recent years, with the development of information technology and the arrival of the mobile Internet era, smart phones have become an indispensable part of people’s daily life and bring great changes to people’s life styles. Smart phones not only make the communication between people more convenient, but also enable its powerful functions and many applications, such as location, camera, code scanner, gravity sensor and Email and so on, providing a powerful tool to people’s work and entertainment. Now people rely on smart phones to gain information and knowledge at their fragmentation time.Plants are an indispensable part of our life. They are around us everywhere. However, most of us lack knowledge about them. Moreover, there is few effective methods to acquire these knowledge. This project designs and develops an application based on the smart phone client, combining with the advantage of smart phones, which can help people learn the knowledge of plants more comprehensively.The main purpose of this project is popularization of plant knowledge. The main work includes requirements analysis, the design of system functions, user interfaces and processing flow, the collection of plants’ data and the implementation of the codes. The application includes functions such as plants knowledge introduction, plants knowledge quizzes, search and view of plants, plants’ QR codes recognition, plants geographical distribution, and retrieval of plants according to the characteristics of the plant and so on.Software testing results that the application has met the demand requirements and the function requirements. The application has been promoted through several scientific popularization activities and benefits lots of people.
