With the development of communication technology,3G and 4G communication era is coming one after another. As the communication quality and data communication speed continuously to be improved, it promotes the development of the mobile phone business. For the payment problems of smart mobile phones, people put forward higher requirements on the security of payment, the confidentiality of personal information and the convenience of actual operation.As the face feature is the intrinsic attributes of mankind, there are obvious individual differences and the stabilities of themselves, so it is the ideal identification. The face recognition technology is applied in the smart mobile phone to consume, and the consumption will be more safe and convenient.In this paper, the main research work is divided into two parts:the design of mobile client based on Android system and the design of terminal server based on Windows system. The mobile client is designed to be user-friendly payment interface, and the terminal server is designed to be face recognition background. It’s taking research on the core technology of Android system, face recognition and socket communicatio. According to the face recognition theory, this paper proposes a design solution for realizing the design of face payment system based on smart mobile phones and finally realizes the scheme. The main work is as follows:(1)This paper completes the preparation work of theory, summarizes the development process of face recognition system and the research status at home and abroad.(2) Through the in-depth study and research of the Android system, this paper makes an introduction about the development of Android and the system architecture of Android platform in detail.(3) Three main processes of the design of terminal server based on Windows system are introduced:face detection, feature extraction and location and face recognition. Studying and comparing the mature methods in these three major processes, this paper focus on AdaBoost algorithm for face detection and face recognition algorithm based on the PCA adopted by the system, detailed introduces the principles and steps of the method. Analysis the experimental results, we improve the face recognition algorithm.(4) Using socket communication technology, communication between smart mobile phones based on Android system and the terminal server is established. According to the knowledge of the face recognition, and the study of the Android system, this paper designs and implements a face payment system based on smart mobile phones.Making full use of the Android SDK, using the Eclipse and the Visual Studio as the development environment of the smart mobile phones’payment interface and the background for face recognition, this paper implements the smart mobile phones scanning faces and taking a picture to upload, the background receiving the picture to face detection and recognition, and returning a result. The test results show that, the system has high stability and high face recognition accuracy, but don’t have an ideal real-time. Besides the face recognition system is seriously affected by outside environment. Further research and improvement is needed.
