RFID is considered to be one of the most developments potential and competitiveof the technology in the21st century. It has been applied in the field of logistics andmanufacturing management, products quality and safety traceability, asset tracking andmanagement as well as electronic financial, at the same time it have broughtearth-shaking changes in social life and business management.RFID reader played the connecting role in the RFID system, the development andchange of functional structure and design concept of RFID reader brought newopportunities and directions for the practical application of RFID system. Smart phonesupgraded processor performance and memory capacity and improved hardware supportand platform compatibility. The paper integrated smart phones and Bluetooth, RFID anddatabase technologies to design a13.56MHz-based smart portable RFID reader, andhope to further explore the direction of the development of RFID technology inpractical applications.The hardware system consists of RFID reader module, wireless communicationmodule, power module, test module, and peripheral circuits. The software systemincludes microcontroller control program, RF control program, SQLite databasesoftware and Bluetooth communication software. The paper tested the hardware andsoftware systems functionality and performance, and tested results proved that thedesign of the system could complete the desired function.The innovation of this paper integrated smart phones and RFID reader via theBluetooth technology. The system designed software process according to protocolwithout changing the hardware circuit and understanding the underlying driver.
