It is an introduction of the key research that how to improve the power density of a high power pulsed power supply. It relates to the technology of modular design, standardization design. From the beginning I have done the principle topological simulation and the thermal simulation, and at last we build up a 550A/38 V pulsed power supply and debug the prototype. At present, the large power supplies are always used the H-bridge topology, which is wildly used in the magnet power supply system. H-bridge topology with its simple topology and control strategy, has many advantages for improving the power density to become some modules. In the accelerator magnet power supply system, H-bridge topology usually works in chopping mode. This dissertation analyses the structure design and thermal design of the H-bridge. Then I divides it into several modules from the structure design, and uses the modular products packaging, then debugs the pulsed power supply with the H-bridge with double closed loop control which is used for the quadrupole magnet in CSRm. After that the prototype is used as a steady DC power in CSRe.Because of the high power density of the structural design in this power supply, the problem of heat dissipation in the key parts must be considered, and it is the main work of this dissertation too. It is based on a thermal simulation software Flo THERM to do some simulation of power converter parts. It makes the device components run easily as it is in a good state. On the other hand, the minimization design of the high power power supply leads to the Electronic Magnetic Compatibility(EMC) problems, which brings harmful noise to other devices at the same time when the devices works in its own steady path. Through that I have put forwards some effective modification measurements to improve the EMC performance.
