| With the global decline of print and development trend of new media, the overseas Chinese newspapers also explore new medias’ development. With the perspective of the media ecology research theory from Shao Pei Ren, according to the field work which lasts for more than four months in Kampuchea The Commercial News, Thailand Sing Sian Yer Pao Daily,I pay attention to overseas Chinese information and emotional needs and observe overseas Chinese newspapers development of new media especially the operation situation We Chat platform, combined with the local situation and 383 reader surveys, summarize the rule of development, speculated that the development trend.The second chapter introduces the Cambodian and Thai Chinese Newspapers’ media ecological status and confusion, attempt in explore new media development.The third chapter uses media ecology’s laws such as niche、moderation、the minimum amount and the food chain and so on, explains the basic strategy of overseas Chinese newspapers We Chat platform operation, from two aspects We Chat user location: vertical and localization as a starting point, respectively describes two types of platform function expansion, including news adjustment and make life service function better.With the survey results, analyses different users’ preferences, and then expounds from the perspective of media brand the new growth point of overseas Chinese media with the help of We Chat.Chapter four From the principles of media ecology studies like interactive, the overall optimization, a virtuous cycle, the difference and varied, appropriate regulation,explains the Overseas Chinese Newspapers’ social significance and intercultural communication,analyzes We Chat’s pros and cons, as the representative of the new media.Finally, the article analyses the opportunities and challenges of the overseas newspaper in the new media environment, and summarizes the full text from the market development perspective. |
