With the rapid development of computer technology and automatic control technology, automatically storage and sorting system has a wider usage in commodity producing, product processing and goods communicating. Compared with traditional storage, automatically storage and sorting system occupies a limited area, has a larger capacity, and has a higher input-output efficiency, which can improve enterprise productivity and capital turnover efficiency, reduce working intensity, and thus increase the market competitiveness of the enterprise.At the same time, enterprise’s demand of skilled personnel is increasingly high, and it is the responsibility of vocational college to cultivate skilled workers. Strengthening students’ ability to integrate theory with practice meets the requirement of further subject improvement and personnel training. Aiming at the requirement and according to the study and analysis of current condition, this article puts forward an overall design of automatically storage and sorting system, introducing the modular design idea into system design, combining electronics, computer and pneumatic engineering technology organically on the basis of Siemens S7-200PLC, MM420 frequency converter, servo system, stepper motors, sensors and configuration software, etc, and achieving the design of hardware selection, logical judgment, software programming, configuration monitoring, network connection and system debugging.The main research contents are as follows:1.The research background and significance are illustrated firstly, and the research status of automatic automated Storage and Retrieval System, sorting technology for Materials home and abroad are reviewed, the modular design concept and significance are introduced, the supporting theories and the modular design principle are studied.2. This paper researched automatic sorting system for material’s modular division’s method; the function module division’s method based on functional decomposition is given, and used in automatic sorting system for material’s function modular division.3. The main types of automatic sorting system for material was summarized, the functional and structural was analyzed, in which the automatic sorting system for Materials appropriateness to modularity was analyzed, then the modularity strategies and the specific method of design ware identified. The modular division was completed, a variety of programs was designed for each modular, and assembled several types automatic sorting system for Materials.The whole system creates a practical training system suitable for integrated teaching, skill examining, staff training and teacher’s scientific research ability improving of vocational college by theoretical derivation and experiment study, which is advanced and feasible.
