The Research And Development On Automated Storage And Retrieval System

Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) came into being in 1950's, which carries freight in and out with high-rise shelf and automated materials handling machine.As an important part of modern logistics system, AS/RS is a multi-storey warehouse storing goods. It is made up of high-level shelves, stacker crane, in-out conveyor system; automatic control and management system. Auxiliary equipment and stacker crane of AS/RS are all under computer management. They can automatically access and manage cargo.The object of this paper is stacker crane, mainly used transportation equipment in AS/RS. The control system of the stacker crane, the warehouse management system and monitoring system are discussed. The research work is listed next.(1) It introduces the concept, historical development, classification and composition of AS/RS.(2) It gives a summary on AS/RS overall design. It also gives discuss on main parameters of AS/RS.(3) On the analysis of the running process and the control requirement of the stacker crane, it introduces the structure of crane control system, control mode, address mode, cargo-sounding detection and ultra-high detection. The corresponding software is established, which ensures the realization of the control function as well as the hardware.(4) Choosing appropriate expression of scheduling in or out warehouse and establish the rules and relevant illative mechanism of repository on the base of conclusion and summary in the scheduling in or out warehouse and distributing of cargo location.(5)Study on the computer management system. On the basis of analysis of warehouse operations and the optimization on goods cell, design AS/RS computer management system. That is developed by Delphi and Oracle database technology.(6) Study on the computer monitoring system. To monitor automated warehouse equipment, we must address the problem of PC and PLC data communication. On the research of the provision of the package PRODAVE S7 of Siemens AG, the PC and PLC data communication are addressed. And animation is designed to simulate the running of stacker crane of AS/RS monitoring system.
