Currently, satellite communication has been applied on many areas such as emergency communication, global long distance communication, and military communication because of its excellent advantages. Wave band of satellite communication distributes in a wide frequency range. To develop space satellite resources further, our country has developed satellite communication in UHF wave band. At present, UHF wave band satellite communication mainly uses circularly polarized satellite communication antenna for its excellent performance at anti-multi path-reflection effect and depolarization effect which can restrain rain and fog. The project is aimed at designing a UHF satellite communication antenna with excellent circular polarization characteristics, wide bandwidth and high gain.First of all, the thesis introduces development and trend of the present satellite communication antenna. Purpose and significance are also proposed. A description of main content of the research and structure of the thesis is presented at the end of the first part.An introduction of the basic conception, feature and usage method of Ansoft HFSS software which is used in the antenna design is given in the next part.Then, the thesis also presents some basic theory and conception of antenna and array antenna. Some main parameters used in the antenna, line array and planer array antenna design are also illustrated. Detail instructions of printed dipole antenna, slot antenna, electromagnetic complementary antenna, Wilkinson power divider and impendence transformer are especially presented.At last, detail modeling simulation and optimization of novel dual channel satellite communication antenna are expounded. Research analysis can be divided into three parts: novel electromagnetic dipole antenna unit, array feed network, array antenna distribution and space. Analysis is performed on modeling, theory, bandwidth characteristics, circular polarization and gain characteristics of Electromagnetic dipole antenna. Reflection and transmission performance of array feed network are also discussed. Optimization discussion of micro-strip type Wilkinson power divider is also performed. We also analyzed influence of the antenna array distribution and unit space to the performance of the array antenna. We have done enormous work to make the satellite communication array antenna suffice the requirements. A plenty of data was obtained after optimization of key parameter of the antenna using Ansoft HFSS software, and at last, the antenna is successfully designed.
