With the development of society and technology, more mobile devices will be connected into the network. Thus, more mobile data traffic will be generated, which brings more stringent demands on micro base stations. It not only demands more micro base stations, but also better performance. With the updating of micro base stations and the requirement of downward compatibility, it becomes important and urgent to integrate micro base station antennas. Antenna integration requires that the function antenna unit should have excellent performance, compact size and flexible structure. In addition, the integration of multiple antennas needs to reduce the mutual coupling between antenna units. This thesis presents the studies on micro-base-station antennas and their integration technology, mainly focusing on the technologies of miniaturization, multi-frequency and antenna integration. The main contents and innovation points of this thesis are as follows:Firstly, the research background and significance of integration technology of micro-base-station antennas is presented, and the state-of-the-art research status of the micro-base-station antenna integration is summarized. Then, some key parameters for micro-base-station antennas are introduced briefly, and some typical design methods of micro-base-station antennas are presented.Thirdly, combining the advantages of stacked patch antennas and slotted patch antennas, a dual-band patch antenna for WIFI applications is designed, with a higher frequency ratio, a miniaturized size and a low profile simultaneously. The impedance bandwidth(for VSWR<1.5) of the antenna covers the demanded the two frequency bands, and stable directional radiation patterns are achieved in both bands. The antenna is very suitable for the integration of micro-base-station antennas due to its compact size and flexibility.Fourthly, to satisfy with the demand for dual-polarized microstrip antenna array, two types of arrays are presented and their antenna performance is evaluated numerically. The simulation results show that the microstrip arrays have good antenna performance.Fifthly, a triple-frequency-band PIFA antenna is designed for the requirement of integration of micro-base-station antennas. As the PIFA antenna is designed as a module, it is easy to be integrated with micro-base-station antennas. Finally, based on the three different types of aforementioned antennas, a compact micro-base-station antenna incorporating a dual-band WIFI antenna, a LTE dual-polarized antenna array, and a multiple-frequency PIFA antenna is designed. To maintain good performance of all antennas in the environment of integrated antennas, the individual antennas are distributed reasonably to reduce the mutual coupling. The experimental results show that the compact integrated micro-base-station antenna has good antenna performance for practical applications.
