Compared to former genarations of mobile communication systems,4G communication network behaves better with faster data transmission performance in terms of image or audio and vedio,which lead to urgent need of wider communication ferquncy band.For this reason,design of dual-band/multi-band antennas and broadband antennas has become a hot field in recent ten years.In order to avoid the bad influences brought by inevitable multi-path effects,dual polarized antennas are good candidates for mobile communication base station.Besides,in modern mobile communication systems,micro base stations have unique superiority in completeness and depth of energy coverage.Focusing on the researches of low profile,compact and integrated micro base station antennas designed for solution of signal coverage completeness of outdoor mobile communication network.The main work and new points of this thesis are showd as follows:Firstly,the background,development and latest research results of low profile,compact and integrated micro-base station antenna are introduced brifly,as well as some related design theories and practical points.Next,two low profile,compact micro base station antennas with perfect integration on road lamp are presented and analysed in detail in this section.These two design of antenna are for purpose of outdoor bidirectional energy coverage.The two antenna both work at 1.9GHz-2.2GHz,with height of 7mm(0.044?l).Most importantly,these two antennas aim at realizing peak energy radiation in low elevation directions,or say at around ±60° off the main axis(±z direction in coordinate system).Thirdly,to get as small difference between simulation results and measured results as possible,improvments on detailed feeding structure are carefully considered.Then,these newly updated antenna prototypes are manufactured and tested.By analyzing antenna characteristics before and after manufacture,some general experiences are concluded to guide for later antenna design.Besides,using these concluded strategies,a new low profile compact integrated antenna for micro base station is discussed,wih working frequency setting at around 2.5GHz to 2.7GHz.Similarly,this antenna has low elevation coverage in terms of the radiation pattern.In the last,by observing the variations on radiation characteristics when putting another antenna closely aside,some information can be get by inferring if there is possibility for antenna diversity.Finally,a low profile compact dual polarized antenna with low omnidirectional radiation characteristic for micro base station is proposed.In this part,antenna details and simulation results are discussed.Simulation results shows that the compact dual polarized antenna behaves good impedance and omnidirectional radiation performances,suggesting it suitable for dual polarized appications for micro base station.Several possible improvements for further reducing the profile of this kind of dual polarized ominiditectional antenna are proposed later.
