With the rapid development of the internet,users and devices accessed to the internet have grown exponentially.Users generally hope that terminal devices can access the network at any time no matter where they are.Therefore,the demand for base station antennas covering mobile networks is increasing.Although operators are currently coexisting with multi-standard networks,users in daily life are mainly active in data services.So operators mainly construct networks to meet data service bands requirements.However the signal attenuation in the 4G frequency band is usually large,and the macro base station cannot meet the user's Internet access requirements in indoor and intensive user area.The micro base stations with the small size and easily installation and maintenance make up for the lack of coverage of the macro base station.Micro base station plays a very important role in 4G/5G network coverage.This paper studies the dual-polarized micro base station antenna in the view of engineering application.Firstly,this paper briefly introduces the development history of mobile communication,describes the research background and significance of micro base station antenna from the development of communication system,and then introduces the common forms of array elements applied in the design of base station antenna,analyzes and compares all kinds of array elements,and then introduces the theoretical knowledge required for the design of micro-base station antenna.Secondly,based on the principle of the microstrip antenna,this paper designs a miniaturized micro base station antenna that can be used in urban construction.The measured results show that it has good radiation characteristics in the working frequency range of 1710-1980 MHz,which satisfies the general requirements of the base station antenna and realizes the design of the directional dip angle,and the feed network of the array antenna is studied.A three-divided power divider with a working frequency band of 1710-2710 MHz is designed.Next,this paper studies the isolation of a single dual-polarized radiating element of micro base station antenna and designs a differentially fed radiating element,so that the partial coupling energies of the two polarized ports cancel each other to improve the isolation.After processing,the measured isolation is-40 dB in the frequency range 1880-2025 MHz.Finally,this paper designs a dual-polarized broadband base station antenna element for the LTE/5G band.The antenna operates in the 1840-3600 MHz,it covers the 4G and 5G band below Sub-6GHz.The antenna feed adopts differential feed.Simulation results show that the standing wave ratio of the antenna is less than 1.5 and the isolation is less than-21 dB in the frequency band,which has good performance.
