The society is developing, and the technology is advancing, along with the explosive growth of information, as well as in the field of video surveillance. As to hardware, the video captured from video front-end has become more and more clear, the video data also becomes more and more large; as to software, the processing algorithms applied in the field of video surveillance becomes more and more complex, they support different hardwares, all this made a powerful challenge for video processing undoubtedly, single-core processor which used very commonly in the past has been unable to meet the requirements in real-time processing and high quality for video surveillance system, so designing a system with multiple processors and high-speed transmission of data between processors is necessary.For the characteristics of complex processing algorithms and large amount of video data, this paper studies and achieves video surveillance processing system based on PCIe data transmission. This paper selects TMS320DM8168 processor as the core of system control, which in charge of task scheduling of the whole system, and selects TMS320C6678 as the data process core, which in charge of the processing of large video data using multi-core parallel, the connection between the two processors is PCIe link, the send and receive of data need high speed to reduce the time consumption caused by sending and receiving video data. In this paper, PCIe transmission can up to10 Gbps, which can meet the requirements of high speed transmission.Firstly, this paper achieves that captures the High Definition video data through V4L2 driver in the TMS320DM8168 end, then write PCIe driver and research and achieve EDMA high speed transmission, send the video data captured by TMS320DM8168 to TMS320C6678 via PCIe link, and then TMS320C6678 process the video data through multi-core parallelly. While video data process complete, transfer it to TMS320DM8168 to display using EDMA also. At the end, this paper realizes a simple user interface through QT, and realize the graphics layer and the video layer displaying at the same time, which can provide a good platform for human-computer interaction.This paper first introduces the present development status, trend and technical background of video surveillance, then puts forward the design scheme, and then buildsthe system hardware platform, software development environment, and introduces the system hardware structure, research system startup, and then introduce the principles of system design, finally introduce system software implementation.
