With the rapid development and progress of the information age, video surveillance and video image processing system based on digital video technology is playing an increasingly important role in digital security field. As an important part in the field of security,fire detection and prevention tend to be digitization and intelligent. Because of the advantages of large detection space, reaction speed, strong anti-interference, etc, video fire detection system based on digital video image processing is widely applied in the security monitoring field. Based on the video fire detection system, this paper will design and implement a high-definition video capture system on the DM8168 platform.Taking DM8168 as the development platform, this paper implemented the video capture drivers of digital acquisition chip Sii9233 a for the system, Sii9233 a can receive data from the HDMI interface and convert the video format from RGB to YUV. In multi-channel framework based on DaVinci? technology, the video capture and display modules have been implemented, which can support single or dual video input, two separate video output or multi-screen mosaic display, and video resolution like 1080 P 720P 480 P and D1 are supported. The paper also researched on the H.264 video compression coding technology, and implemented an efficient video codec of H.264. To breakthrough the limitation of remote video transmission, network transmission of video based on RTSP protocol have been completed. This paper also deeply studied DM8168's quad-core system and the McFW development framework, and then designed the process of scheduling and communication between multi-cores.The basic functions such as video capture, compression coding and network transmission etc, are tested after the design and implementation of the system, and then test the performance and stability of the system. The results show that the system can support HD/SD video capture with single or dual video input, the time delay in the video capture system is within 100 ms, and no frame drop or caton happened during video capture. The average compression rate of coding is up to 34.7:1, and network transmission is stable, the function and performance of the system have reached the expected goal.
