The video monitoring system’s resolution and intelligent level is gradually increasing. To conform to the trend, this article has designed and implemented a network intelligent video monitoring system,which is based on TI’s TMS320DM8168 multimedia processor,according to the actual requirements of video monitoring system. This system not only can complete the acquisition of local video frames, but also can realize the capture, processing and transmission of the network high-definition video frames and audio packets. Meanwhile, the system also has realized the target tracking algorithm of video intelligent analysis for real-time video frames. So,this paper will expounds the content from the following aspects:Firstly,the paper analyzes the related technology of embedded video monitoring system: the network streaming media transmission protocol of RTSP and RTP/RTCP, the codec technology of G.711 and H.264 for audio and video,and the software framework used by the embedded platform development,which is called McFW.Secondly,according to the application requirements,the design of the network intelligent video monitoring system is based on the powerful media processor of TI’s TMS320DM8168. Then the hardware resources module and software framework has been introduced.Based on McFW framework,the open source project of live555 has been adopted as an RTSP client to receive video and audio packets from network and wis-streamer has been used as an RTSP server to transfer the processed video and audio frame to the remote monitor through network.So,the system have the ability to transfer the video frame and audio frames to the network synchronously.Thirdly,the design and implement of the software mosaic for the two high-definition video picture channel.Meanwhile,users can change the place of the picture freely for composite picture.The obtained two-way superposition of high-definition video channel after mosaic processing becomes to a single channel, which could be locally displayed or encoded by H.264 for network transmission. Sending the single channel high-definition coded video frame can effectively save the bandwidth usage rate.Fourthly, research and implement the target tracking algorithm of intelligent video analysis on the video monitor system.The target tracking algorithm,which consists of SURF matching theory,Kalman filter technology and adaptive window algorithm.So the system has the ability of analysis the real-time video scene.According to the user’s choice of interest single moving target,the system can realize the target tracking for the following video frames,which could be the preliminary pretreatment of computer visual analysis of the target behavior.At the same time,a variety of optimization has been done for the realization of the algorithm on the platform to meet the requirement of real-time processing.Fifthly, the system test environment has been built. The system required function and performance,such as real-time performance and network transmission performance,have been tested and analysised in detail.The test result shows that the system has the characteristic of high-resolution video processing ability, network reception and transmission delay is small and the robust of target tracking algorithm.
