The system departs enterprise business process with process execution, to accomplish a flexible configuration of business processes.Comparing with various types of workflows, the Independent Workflow System improves the workflow via block-based design. So that, the workflow has huge increase in reusability, extensibility, portability and maintainability. In this thesis, the Independent Workflow System implements process control and management of process instances and tasks, monitoring and displaying the implement of process instances and tasks, exception handling of the system operation, worksheet generation and data processing, definition of calling and displaying various type of widgets, controlling general information of the program set, definition of expression evaluation, providing security services, resources services, business services and so on. In addition this thesis also takes security issues into consideration, to enhance the safety performance of the system via user authority controlling and joining timestamp into secret key generation algorithm.In this thesis, NHibernate framework is used to call the database, and log4net is exploited to remedy deficiencies of.net in the logging area.The combination of these two tools accomplishes the user login legality verification.By analyzing the actual demands of enterprises, the thesis accomplishes an approval system with the Independent Workflow System. What’s more, it can adapt to demand changes with nice scalability. Using the China Mobile Portal Website as an example, the thesis has introduced the usage of the Independent Workflow System in the application system in details. With the demands of the China Mobile Portal Website, the thesis has introduced the modeling and running process.The Independent Workflow System writes each module with nodes, ensuring that when the requirements changes, the developer can locate the problem immediately. The system pre-packaged all the likely demands into widgets, so that we may able to achieve any complex demands through flexible widgets callings and settings. Also because the system has a fixed structure and widgets, the framework of the process model is consistent to all kind of demands. Because NHibernate framework supports a variety of database products, we can use this system by a few modification when the database have changed. So The Independent Workflow System have advantages in reusability, extensibility, portability and maintainability. Furthermore the system determines the circulation of each task by a few logical judgment, so the code is more streamlined compared with the other Workflow system.However, there are still some problems. Such as the interaction of debugging is not good enough, and the load capacity of the system is not very strong. But based on the actual market demands and so many advantages of the Independent Workflow System, it will be applied in large scale.
