As a core support technology of wireless sensor network, routing protocol has been high-profiled by scholars from all over the world. Researches of routing protocol in two-dimensional network environment has been relatively mature, however, in the field of three-dimensional mobile sensor network, studies are still in primary stage. In most application scenarios, for instance, atmospheric sounding, marine exploration and animal community tracking, the density of sensor nodes spreading in the whole3 D area tends to be significantly different, and the location of sensor nodes change frequently due to a number of factors. Design an Energy-efficient routing protocol with high reliability of data transmission in this type of network environment is a research focus in academics recently. This article mainly studies from topology-based routing protocols and geographical location-based routing protocols, then proposed a hybrid routing scheme which combines advantages of these two kinds of protocols. In the aspect of topology-based routing, we proposed an improved LEACH-based routing protocol T-LEACH, this protocol provides three major mechanisms and improves performance in the following three aspects:(1)Combine with tree routing mechanism, reduce energy consumption of sensor node, prolong network lifetime. Reduce energy consumption of edge node by establish data collection tree among all cluster head nodes which make it possible to be applied in large-scale WSNs.(2)Propose a cluster head node mobility reaction mechanism which lifting the restriction that location of cluster nodes needs to be fixed and reduced the deployment cost. This mechanism conducive to play the advantage of wireless sensor network and ensured the ability of LEACH algorithm balancing network energy.(3)Combine with power control technology, reduce the energy consumption of single hop transmission, prolong node lifetime. T-LEACH is able to effectively reduce energy consumption of sensor node by the proposed multiple hop transmit mechanism, thus to further improve the robustness of the network. In order to further improve reliability of data transmission, this article proposed a node density weighted routing scheme which combines T-LEACH protocol and weighted location-based routing scheme. The scheme collecting information of globalnode density weighting greedy algorithm and recovery algorithm by the topology provided by T-LEACH. Using global node density information to solve local minimum problem, on the other hand, the scheme ensures packages transmission in the truck area that has a significant improvement on network lifetime. The scheme avoids communication interrupt caused by LEACH and also presents a solution for routing hole problem. Finally, we introduced a simulation platform for three dimensional WSNs environment which designed by our project team, and operate a series of contrast test between the proposed scheme and existing protocols e.g. LEACH,CBR-Mobile and Greedy etc. The experimental result show that our proposed routing scheme has a better performance on energy consumption, network lifetime and data delivery rate than the above existing protocols, therefore has a terrific application prospect.
