Underwater acoustic communication network is an important method for underwater information acquisition and underwater acoustic data transmission. With the deepening exploration of the ocean by the state, the underwater acoustic communication network plays an irreplaceable role in the ocean field. The underwater acoustic routing protocol is an important part of constructing the underwater acoustic network. It analyzes the topology of the underwater acoustic communication network and dynamically plans the data transmission. The development of marine science and technology makes underwater communication networks tend to be mobile and large-scale,and simple fixed transmission routes will not be able to meet the transmission requirements of the networks. Therefore, the design of reasonable underwater acoustic routing protocols has become a hot topic of research. This thesis focuses on the research of the routing protocols of underwater acoustic communication. And it simulates and analyzes the single-path routing protocols and multi-path routing protocols suitable for underwater mobile networks respectively.First,we analyze the basic principles of routing protocols and the basic characteristics of various routing protocols.According to the communication characteristics of underwater mobile nodes,DSR(Dynamic Source Routing)routing protocol and AODV(Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector)routing protocol are selected as the research focuses. And we analyze the basic theories of the two protocols, data structure and routing transceiver mechanism.Compare the transmission performance of the two protocols.Secondly,we introduce network simulator NS2(Network Simulator Version 2)and its corresponding expansion module.By setting different CBR scenarios and motorial models,we simulate the transmission performance of AODV and DSR.Compare the performance of AODV and DSR in normalized routing load and packet get ratio when the number of simulated nodes is different and the speed of nodes is different.Analyze the DSR and AODV applicable underwater acoustic communication scenarios.Thirdly, the research of multipath routing protocol is carried out.The basic principles and classification of multi-path routing are described. We study the performance of node disjoint paths, link disjoint paths and intersecting paths.Typical multi-path routing protocols are introduced. And we study how to use multiple paths in multi-path protocols. We focus on the algorithm model and operating mechanism of backup routing protocol.Simulate and analyze the number of routing hops, the number of backup links and node participation on theperformance of the backup routing protocol. The cost function that can quantify the performance of each path is constructed using three magnitudes of route length, node similarity and link similarity. Finally, the backup source routing protocol is designed and implemented. The performance of packet delivery rate, normalized routing cost and routing initiation frequency of backup source routing are simulated respectively in two scenarios: different network nodes and different maximum node movement speeds. And we compare the performance of backup source routing with the performance of AODV and DSR protocols in the corresponding scenario. Then we demonstrate the performance of the backup source route is great.
