With technological advancement, technology of sensor and communication are steadily developing. In front of pressing environmental problem, it is of great significance to carry out real-time monitoring,historic record inquiry,data storage and controlling of environment.According to investigation,Many system could carry out environment monitoring,but few can meet the particularity of environmental monitoring.For environment monitoring system, following respects should be taken into consideration: the location of monitoring station’s randomness leads to wiring difficulty,data archiving, the extension,upgrade and cost of the system and PC deployment.In this background,this thesis successfully designed the environmental monitoring system which contains monitoring stations,ARM server,PC and Android application based on the technology of electronic information,computer,sensor and communication.This thesis firstly introduces the development trends of environmental monitoring in domestic and abroad and determines overall plan of the system, then describes the hardware circuit design,system software development, the early configuration of the system, the communication method and protocol among monitoring station,PC and ARM server. Finally, the paper gives out debug methods,problem encountered during commissioning and solutions.The system have very distinct characteristics: PC, ARM server could realize dynamic data compatibility which means that there are no consistency requirement of sensor nodes amount and type, each node can be different. The ARM server as the core of the system is a star topology which could realize one-to-one communication and one-to-many communication.As the extension of the system, Android application is greatly convenient for users’ monitoring. Nodes could send alert to online PC and application when values over threshold level. The PC software is developed by QT,which could only need to re-compile to achieve cross-platform.
