A managing and controlling system for lab equipments is designed on the basis of embedded system and database server technology. The system not only has more monitoring and real-time control functions, but also has the function of browsing, searching, reserving, and loging on of all connected equipments for user and managing function for manager. Moreover, IC cards can be used to loging on system conviently. The system will close the relay when the power supply is unnormal to protect the equipments and devices. System is composed with three parts: client, embedded main board and the database server. The main contents of this paper are as following:The design of core controller includes the selection of MCU, each module’s chip and the driver for each module of the system. STM32 chip is chosed as a core chip, which has SPI bus, I2 C bus, FLASH memory and GPIO port that can provide multi- channel for data collection. Method of the block(interrupt) and the non-block(polling) is used to program the embedded software, which can improve high reliability of USB and Ethernet communication module. Ethernet driver software is programed base on socket technology and lightweight TCP/IP protocol u IP. The measurement of power current and volltage provide power protection through cutting off the power when the electric source is unnormal.MFC interface, RFID card reader and the webpage is used for client to search and reserve the enquipment. Login client has the right to realize the function of user information modification, real-time state reservation and use of instruments, to browse and display the instrument information, to browse and set the web parameter. The RFID reader provides the fast authentication and corresponding work offline.The inferface of database server is designed on basis of MFC. The function of server include : the address information of user’s identity verification, the change of embedded system and instrument, the instrument’s state and the real-time operation data, getting the results and saving the data. The socket is used to bind to the port and realize the function of information interaction.The multithread is used to access the needs of lots of customers and the mutex lock is used to ensure the integrity and security of the data.Through testing and practically using, the function of each module can meet the requirements of the system and work normally.
