In many urban media, the radio owns unique advantages in urban media communication due to the characteristic of real-time dissemination and listen convenience. Compared with other media, the radio station can interact more extensive and deeply with the audience.By capturing public participating radio station in past as theory path and by using conversational analysis and in-depth interview as research methods, this paper examines the means that radio presenting public participation and the influence that public affecting radio content production. The research purpose to explore the relationship between urban radio and public participation, revealing the influence and significance of the two-way interaction between public and public media to construct urban space.The result shows that the radio "Voice of the West Lake", which treating the city Hangzhou as main body and foothold, strive to create a way of community and daily expression and a concept of city cultural brand. On one hand, the urban radio station built a platform that citizen can express their views and feelings through incorporating the citizen of Hangzhou into daily programs. On the other hand, the urban radio station impacts the construction of urban culture and urban space positively by integrating and expanding public participation.
