Logistics is the product of social development, which is the service industry includedinventory management, modern transportation, product distribution, customer service and aseries of activities. The key to the logistics is management and the rationality of managementdepends on the correctness of the decision. Therefore the correctness of decisions can directlydetermine the survival and development of the logistics enterprises. Most of logistics enterprisesin China have some achievements in the decisions of transport scheduling and inventory control.However they mainly rely on traditional empirical methods to make decisions. Thereforescientific decisions about logistics are required.This paper designs and develops the logistics decision support system which is based onbusiness intelligence. And the system is mainly aimed to the requirements of the tobaccologistics. Logistics decision support system provides two functions such as daily businessmanagement and decision support for enterprises. Considering the characteristics of logistics, thesystem consists of two decision modules such as transport scheduling and intelligent inventorymanagement. Main research work of this paper is summarized as below.(1)Compared with traditional logistics management system,the logistics decision systemproposed in this paper is based on data warehouse and applies the business intelligencetechnologies to logistics management systems. Moreover the system can provide support fordecision makers by analyzing the hidden association and discipline of the huge data.(2) This paper used ETL tools to extra and integrate data from11enterprises in Zhejiangprovince, and established province tobacco enterprise data warehouse, which depended on theactual situation of tobacco in Zhejiang province.(3)Establishment of inventory decision model. This model employs both active supplyinventory control decision and inventory-sales ratio to identify inventory level. By setting up thewarning mechanism and risk management, this model realized real-time monitoring andautomatic warning to the dynamic market sales, inventory and delivery, which can ensure thattobacco sales forecasts, inventory positioning and real-time delivery work scientifically and orderly.The model presented before is help to reduce the inventory management costs ofenterprises and improve inventory management.(4)Establishment of transportation scheduling decision model. Construct the mathematicalmodel with constraint for the vehicle scheduling problem of the actual situation of tobaccologistics and use genetic algorithms to calculate it. By using the improved chromosomal geneencodes, this genetic algorithm can more effectively address the vehicle routing problem oflogistics enterprises, thereby increasing the speed of delivery, reducing distribution costs andboosting profits.
