In the 20 th century, the development of knowledge economy has had a huge impact on the world, thus driving the study of knowledge management and knowledge services. The word "knowledge service" was first introduced to China in 1999 in the field of Library and Information. During the 15 years, knowledge service was popular among the library and information field, and the study continues to heat up. So the knowledge services were studied for its importance in library and information services field.This paper analyzed the subject of library knowledge service published from 1999 to 2014(2014 is incomplete years). The first chapter, the preface, introduced the background, knowledge services and the spirit of the times, and then described the research purpose, meaning and research methods of knowledge services, and finally, summarized the overview of knowledge services. The second chapter stated knowledge services research overview in the domestic stage, and explained content knowledge, principles, characteristics, service models, strategies and technical support of domestic service. The third chapter did some research based on the current library knowledge service and related issues. It discussed the relationship between knowledge services and information services, and also re-understood the characteristics and the ability of library knowledge service. Besides, the relationship between library knowledge service theory and practice was described,and focus on the understanding core ability of library and so on. In the fourth chapter, the author pointed out the future direction of knowledge services and safeguards. It believed that the knowledge service research work should first define a fixed knowledge service in the future and formed knowledge service disciplinary system. In addition, the empirical research should be strengthened. Furthermore, it is necessary to build or promote the capacity of the library knowledge service.In short, knowledge service is an important goal of library services, therefore the awareness should be strengthened and more work should be done. Moreover, the field of library and information practice should strengthen in-depth study to find an effective method consistent with characteristic of the times, in order to build a service model to improve the quality of library services for the ultimate purpose.
