Study On The Public Opinion Ecology In The Context Of “complicated China”

In recent years, every major social event in China is characterized by the widespread participation of the media and public and the intense public-opinion confrontation. Public opinions are exerting a strong influence on the progress and development orientation of social events. Public opinion ecology presented new features which different from before. The improvement of media technology, the diversity of social forms, the complicated situations during the social transition, the public’s strong willingness of participating in public events as well as the more open attitude of the government make the originally single public opinion ecological environment suffer unprecedented impact; thus, public opinion ecology gradually shifts from official dominant form to network dominant form; the government, media and the public also play more and more important role in the process of China’s democratic society.Basing on the social background of “complicated China”,we take the “Tang Hui case” as the study subjects.The paper introduced ecological concept to get a deep insight into public opinion game playing arising out of the “Tang Hui Case”. Besides,through teasing out the whole case, it probed into the generation and operating law of public opinion ecology in the new era of China, in an effort to throw theoretic enlightenment on the healthy operation of public-opinion ecosystem and more effective interaction between the government, traditional media, new media and the public in the new age. The paper ended with reflections on “Tang Hui Case” and proposals on joint establishment of healthy public opinion ecology.The paper mainly applies the qualitative research, adopts many research methods such as data analysis and generalization and summarization, and discusses the generation characteristics of the new ecological public opinion in China from the aspects of the opinions, attitude and the interaction of the government, media and the public in “Tang Hui Event”.The research holds the viewpoints that the development of Chinese public opinion ecology is characterized by increasingly tense “conflicts”, which is a mixture of both advantages and disadvantages. The decentralization of discourse right, to some extent, promotes the freedom of speech but also often makes social events and parties be involved in public opinion. In fact, when seeking to express opinion freely, people more need to keep their inner reason and outer order. The current public opinion ecology becomes more diverse and also many problems emerge at the same time; only through the joint efforts of the government, the media and the public can the harmony of public opinion ecology in the multivariate be achieved.Public opinion also shows the characteristics of strong contrast and extreme views.So it is necessary for the government, media and the public to work hand in hand to jointly blend in the multivariate society.
