France is the first Western country, which established diplomatic relations with the China, the Sino-French relations have always been an important part of China’s foreign relations, with the media plays a more and more important role in social life, Chinese people know the French national image depends more on the media, the media has become an important channel for people to know more about French, because of its special status and influence, the mainstream media has an absolute the advantage in the influence public’s perception of the French national image.People’s Daily is China organ newspaper of the Communist Party, as the most important newspaper in China, Its the most authoritative, the most influential national newspapers, This thesis had a detailed statistics and analysis of the quantity and the report content and other aspects by using data analysis method and content analysis method, collecting 406 effective samples, selecting the report on France from January2009 to January 2014 in People’s Daily, This study attempts to use empirical research to analyze--the report about France in People’s Daily is not the simple projection of the reality. This study concludes the national image and international image characteristics about France in People’s Daily. According to those concludes, to present further reason and factor explain this situation. From the results of this study, The national image of France in People’s Daily is influenced by the party newspaper properties, Objectivity and subjectivity of news, Sino-French diplomatic relations, National interest, Report framework, French Stereotype and other type of objective and subjective factors.Above all, This Paper Present recommendations and show the deficiencies of reports about France’s national image in People’s Daily through French’s national image analysis. Hope it will guide People’s Daily re-examine and adjust reports about France.
