As a newspaper which belongs to the Communist Party of China, People’s Daily has the responsibility of representing and propagating national leaders to the country and the world. This paper is completed under the circumstances of democracy and the fusion of media. This paper analyzes the overall descriptions of our national leaders in People’s Daily from Apr. 2013 to Mar. 2015 in different methods such as content analysis and comparative analysis. The result combines with “News Frame” theory, the methods and characteristics of media representation of our national leaders in People’s Daily are summarized.Through in-depth study for the samples, the reporting about national leaders is various between People’s Daily, and its Weibo or Wechat. It suggests that the property of media is different, but the image of national leaders is complementary. They together bring us the diligent, pragmatic and people-friendly image of national leaders, and the characteristic of reporting is complementary in subject, angle of view, timeliness and interactivity. This paper suggests it benefits from the policy, the new concept and technology of media, and the present public demands. Therefore, it has been brought several dimensions of thinking on the media representation of People’s Daily and its other media platforms. It should enrich the contents of presentation, combine all the media platforms with theirs advantages, pay equal attention to the essay and photos, and use innovation of visual symbols.
