Design And Implementation Of A Distributed Network Management System Based On Wireless Mesh Network

Wireless Mesh Network is a dynamic self-organizing, self-configuring and multi- hop network, it can provide robust and reliable network coverage and low-cost network connectivity for mobile or stationary terminal. Nodes in the network can automatically establish and maintain connections, and has features of network flexibility, reliability, and low cost of deployment. So, wireless Mesh networks is one of the key technology in next generation wireless access networks,and network management is the key technology which ensures its efficiently running.In the study of distributed network management, using the active network technology in network management is one of the hot research. Active network technology is dynamic and intelligence, combining active network technology and wireless Mesh network can improve operating performance of wireless Mesh networks and breakthrough the performance bottleneck of traditional centralized network management and improve flexibility, robustness and scalability of wireless Mesh network management system.This paper aimed at the particularity of wireless Mesh networks, and studied the distributed network management solutions for wireless Mesh networks, and solved dynamic problems in wireless Mesh network management. Firstly, this paper analyzed the research status and network management features of wireless Mesh networks, pointed out the operating conditions that existing network management model can not meet in wireless Mesh networks. Secondly, this paper introduced the active network technology, and introduced it to the wireless Mesh network management. Then in order to make them more suitbale for the operating environment in Wireless Mesh Networks, based on in-depth study of active network technology and network management technology, and for the dynamic characteristics of the wireless Mesh network, this paper introduced the idea of distributed management, and proposed a distributed network management model based on combines of active network technology and SNMP. At last, the paper used QT and achieved a design of the configuration management and fault management function for the wireless Mesh network under Linux centos6.5 operating system environment. Besides, the paper designed stable broadband multimedia business communications functions between wireless Mesh network nodes based on the requirement of the project, including real-time video, voice, short messagecommunication, and reliable file transfer.
