General signal processing platform is widely used in radar, communications and other fields. This article describes a general-purpose signal processing platform design based on FPGA+DSP+PowerPC architecture and engineering, and confirmed the feasibility of the design.In this thesis, based on the development of the main devices of the status quo and features, as well as general-purpose signal processing platform we propose a rich interface, powerful, versatile general-purpose signal processing platform design. The hardware and software design of four modules contains RapidIO interface circuit, DSP data processing circuit, PowerPC terminal circuit, and system circuit. In the RapidIO interface circuit, Xilinx’s V5 series XC5VLX110 T and the corresponding auxiliary circuits are employed. Transfer rate of The circuit is up to 3.125 Gbps. DSP data processing circuit consists of TI’s C6000 series DSP TMS320C6416 T and SDRAM circuit. TMS320C6416 T with 1GHz clock can make a large amount of data computing. The PowerPC terminal circuit consists of the of Freescale company and DDR2, Gigabit Ethernet interface circuit. The MPC8548 with the VxWorks operating system is devoted to communicate with the host computer, issuing commands and uploading data. The results of system testing and error analysis show that the circuit is reasonably practicable and meets the design requirements of the general-purpose signal processing platform.
